As the winter season embraces Montreal with its characteristic chill, something peculiar has been unfolding. The city, known for its picturesque, snow-laden streets and frosty air, is experiencing an unseasonable warmth. But as nature plays its unpredictable games, so does my health. Recently, I found myself stricken with a cold, despite the mild weather.
For the past few days, I’ve been grappling with a persistent cough, a stuffy nose, and body aches. It’s an ironic twist, isn’t it? When the weather decides to be kinder than usual, my body chooses this time to remind me of its vulnerabilities.
Being someone who thrives on productivity and creativity, I initially tried to push through this discomfort. However, this cold made me realize something crucial – the importance of balance, especially when it comes to health.
I found myself in a conundrum: How do I maintain my productivity while also giving my body the rest it needs? This is a question I believe many of us struggle with. We live in a world that often celebrates constant work and overlooks the necessity of rest. But through this experience, I’ve learned that listening to my body is not just about recovery, it’s also about respecting its limits.
As I navigate through this period of rest and recovery, I can’t help but wonder how others manage such situations. Do you, have any rituals or remedies that you turn to when you’re under the weather? How do you find that balance between rest and productivity?
I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
In the meantime, I’ll be here, wrapped up in a quilt and hoping this lifts before the holidays.
